Jack Edward Bocox

January 20, 1915 – March 14, 2001

Jack E. Bocox, 86, Perry, died at 3:27 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City, OK.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Buddy Hunt will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Sisson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church parking fund.

Bocox was born January 20, 1915, in Orlando, OK, the son of Orie and Evelynn (Huffer) Bocox. He was a graduate of Perry High School. He was married Dec. 21, 1940 to the former Mary Doris Jones in Bartlesville, OK. On May 24, 1996, he was married to Ida Mae (Clark) Day in Orlando, OK.

Bocox was a farmer and oilfield worker. He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Bocox, of the home; a step-daughter, Raylene Smith and husband, Delmar, Perry; two step-sons and their wives: Maurice Day and Kathy, Perry, and David Day and wife Marla, Manhattan, KS; one brother, Don Bocox, Talahina, OK; and two sisters, Ruth Bocox, Ponca City, OK, and Fran Palm and husband, Jack, Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Doris; one brother, one sister and one step-son.
