Florence Ryerson

– 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Ryerson, lives at 633 1/2 Delaware street. She was born in Regina, Sask., Canada, May 19, 1922. She has attended Perry schools all twelve years.

She was a member of the high school girls’ glee club one year, is a member of the Red Hots, pep organization and a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She plans to either go to business college next year or take nurses training.

Florence B. (Ryerson) Vorndran

May 19, 1922 – December 10, 1997

Florence B. Vorndran, 75, Perry, died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1997 at Perry Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Private graveside services will be held following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Mrs. Vorndran was born at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada on May 19, 1922. Her parents were Earl E. and Ethel A. (Mieligan) Ryerson. She was a 1940 graduate of Perry High School and attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City.

She and Gregory C. Vorndran were married on Feb. 2, 1947 in South Haven, KS. Vorndran preceded his wife in death on Feb. 2, 1983.

Mrs. Vorndran did office work in Oklahoma City for six years and was a nurse aide at Perry Memorial Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 1990.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Grandmothers’ Club and was a member and served as treasurer of the Petunia Garden Club.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vorndran was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, one brother and two sisters.

Among survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Sandra Vorndran, Perry, and Mike and Terri Vorndran, Cleveland; and a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brock and Hillary Vorndran, Marshall.
