Verneta Eulee Rutherford

Verneta Eulee “Lee” Rutherford, 70, died at the Veterans Home in Yountville, California, March 2, 1976.

Mr. Rutherford was born in Texas on December 17, 1905, to George Washington and Nora Orlene (Churchwell) Rutherford. He graduated from Perry high school in 1927 and was married to Dicia E. Sims on December 23, 1929. They made their home in Shawnee, Oklahoma before moving to California.

In 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as shipfitter first class during World War II. He was discharged from the service in 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Dicia, of Yountville.

No funeral services are scheduled at the Veterans Home. Burial will be in Lower Lake Cemetery in Lower Lake. Jones and Lewis Mortuary of Lower Lake is in charge of arrangements.
