James “Otis” Sims

April 8, 1912 – April 3, 1971

Otis Sims, 58, former Perry resident and graduate of Perry high school, died Saturday at his home in Seattle, Wash.

Services will be Tuesday at Washington funeral home, Seattle, Wash.

Born April 18, 1912, in Mangum, Okla., he was the son of George Washington and Ada (Robinson) Sims. He and Glenna Belle McCoy were married January 22, 1933. She preceded him in death in May, 1956.

For a number of years he had been a purchasing agent for Todd Shipyards in Seattle.

Survivors include his son, Richard Sims, Maple Valley, Wash.; his mother Mrs. Ada Sims Fruevog, Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Elba Sims, Los Angeles, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
