John J. Braden, 92, was the son of John Peter and Anne Marie Kutz Braden. He was born Feb. 7, 1909 at Omaha, Nebraska and died Sunday, August 19, 2001 at his home in Lucien, Oklahoma.
John graduated from Perry High School in 1927 and went on to earn a teaching certificate from Edmond Teachers College. He married Vera Blanche Gorman on July 12, 1934 in Lucien. John farmed on the family homestead his whole life. He worked for and was a member of U.S.D.A. Terrace Builder and Crop Acreage Measurer.
A private family ceremony will take place in McGuire Cemetery, Lucien. Memorials may be made to the Lucien United Methodist’ Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara K. Jones of Hartsville, South Carolina, Linda A. Tedder, Janet M. Hileman and Meredith E. Williams all of Lucien; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera Blanche; one son, Jerry Marvin Braden; one brother, John Marvin Braden and one sister, Ada Margrete Meeks.
