Margaret Bittman plans to enroll at Lindenwood college in St. Charles, Mo., after leaving Perry high school. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Carl Bittman, 1006 Tenth street. Margaret was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Oklahoma City and has received all her schooling in Perry. She has been a member of the band since 1948 and was vice president the past year. Among her other activities are Teen Town council, Future Teachers association, annual staff, junior play, annual play, and senior play.

Margaret Lou Bittman

January 11, 1934 – September 3, 1997

Former Perryan, Margaret Bittman, 63, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, in St. Louis, MO, where she made her home.

Born Jan. 11, 1934, in Oklahoma City, she was the daughter of Carl and Inabel Bittman.

A graduate of Perry high school, she also graduated from Lindenwood college at St. Charles, MO. Ms. Bittman worked in radio and television until she retired.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic church, Lions club and various other civic organization.

Survivors include her father, Carl Bittman, Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Larry Bittman, Ponca City, and Richard Bittman, Amarillo, TX; and one sister Lee Beakey, Raleigh.

Ms. Bittman was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral mass will be held Friday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Shrewsbury. Graveside rites are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic cemetery at Perry.
