Fred Herbert Peden

April 24, 1917 – May 6, 1971

Fred Herbert Peden, 54, Darwin, Australia, died unexpectedly at 7:30 a.m. Thursday while working on an offshore rig for Phillips Petroleum company at Darwin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Christian church with Rev. Roemer Hudler of Houston, Texas officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Peden was born April 24, 1917, in Perry. He was married in Pawnee to Catherine Johnston in 1939. Following their marriage, they moved to Texas, where they remained until five years ago, when they moved to Australia.

He was a Perry high school graduate and former member of the Perry National guard. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include his wife of the home address; two sons, Gary, Houston, Texas, and Gregory, Darwin; one sister, Mrs. Zellma Gatz, Tonkawa; and an aunt, Mrs. Ethel Holland, Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Peden.
