Alvin Andrews, Jr.

– son of Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Andrews, Perry, born at Mulhall eighteen years ago.

Alvin is a member of the demolay, and Perryscope staff, highschool newspaper.

He has been a member of the junior national honor society two years, a member of the national honor society two years, and president of the society in his senior year, president of the student council his senior year, reporter for the class, and a member of the senior class play.

Alvin has been equally active in sports such as basketball and football. He was basketball captain the last year, and was issued the Lion’s award in basketball in both his junior and senior years.

Alvin plans to enter the navy at the close of graduation. Following the war he intends to take an engineering course in college.

Alvin O. Andrews, Jr.

February 19, 1926 – March 17, 2006

Alvin Andrews, 80, retired chemical engineer died March 17, 2006, at Bartlesville, OK.

Andrews was born February 19, 1926, to Alvin O. and Iva Faye (Hyde) Andrews in Mulhall, OK. He graduated from Perry high school in 1944 and continued his education in engineering at Oklahoma A & M.

He married Billye Good on January 19, 1951. They made their home at Oak Ridge, TN where he was employed at the Atomic Energy Plant. In 1952, he became employed with Phillips Petroleum Co. and made their home in Bartlesville, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billye; one son, Steve Andrews and wife Ann, and four grandchildren: Monica, Chris, Parker, and Lillia.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
