Barbara Lea (Casparis) St.Clair

October 5, 1929 – December 6, 2019

Barbra Lea St. Clair, born October 5, 1929 in Perry OK, died Friday, December 6th at the age of 90, in Perry, OK.

She was the daughter of Jacob Lambert Casparis and Mary Megdeline (Shea) Casparis. Barbara graduated from Perry High School in 1947 and married her high school sweetheart Tolbert St. Clair on December 27, 1948 in Enid OK. They made their home in Perry where Tolbert worked for R.L Frailey for 35 years. God blessed them with two sons, James Barton and Jacob Hal.

While Tolbert traveled a lot with his job, Barbara stayed busy supporting the boys in their school sports. In her earlier years, she was a member of a Bridge club, Ladies Tuesday Afternoon Club and Perry Women’s Golf Association. She was an avid golfer and played every chance she could get.

When Tolbert retired, they traveled several weeks a year around the country, playing golf and sightseeing, Branson, MO, Fairfeild Bay, AR, Bella Vista, AR, and Hot Springs, AR were their favorite annual vacation spots. She loved gardening and displayed her green thumb through the beautiful plants and flowers surrounding their patio.

Barbara held a special place in her heart for the love of her family. She spent many years as a caregiver to her parents and other family members. Her grandkids and great grandchildren filled her life with much joy and laughter.

Barbara was a 57-year member in the P.E.O. Sisterhood and served as president of her local BH Chapter. She was the first woman president of the Perry Golf and Country Club and served as president for many years of the PMH Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Perry where she had served on several committees and past president of the CWF.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Tolbert St. Clair and brother Jack Casparis.

She is survived by sons, James St. Clair and his wife DeAnne of Bixby, Jake St. Clair and his wife Cindy of Perry, grandchildren, Jill Gray and husband Shaun of Norman, Andrea St. Clair and husband Cody Dopps of Tulsa, Gabriel St. Clair, Perry, Rebecca St. Clair, Tulsa, and Jayme Wellnitz and husband Eric of Parkland, Fl, and ten great grandchildren, Zoe Heberling, Roman Lockney, Abram Lockney, Josiah St. Clair, Ava Wellnitz, Liam Wellnitz, Olivia St. Clair, Delaney St. Clair, Sydni St. Clair, Jenkins Gray.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Perry, OK, Rev. Joshua Bell will officiate.
