Gertye Mable (Kobes) Croka

April 28, 1899 – February 14, 1981

Mrs. Gertye Croka, long-time resident of Perry community, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday at the Perry Nursing home where she had been admitted Feb. 9.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian church. In charge will be Rev. Jon Neuhs. Burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery under direction of Parker Funeral home. The family has requested no flowers. Memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Croka had lived at 1108 Elm street. She was born at Manhattan, Kan., to Joseph and Lottie (Kasl) Kobes. She was a 1913 graduate of Perry high school and a graduate of Manhattan Kansas State Teachers college at Emporia. She returned to Perry in 1919 and was a teacher in Perry schools. She was married in 1937 at Enid to Cecil Croka, who preceded her in death in 1959. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Williams, Perry, and Mrs. John (Marion) White, Ruidoso, N. M.; and an aunt, Mrs. Cora Guthrie, Perry.
