Cyrus “Ivan” Lighty

September 5, 1914 – April 27, 1955

Ivan Lighty, 38, formerly of Perry, died late Wednesday of injuries received in an automobile-truck collision near Hutchinson, Kan.

Mrs. Lighty and another man riding with the former Perry couple are hospitalized at Hutchinson with serious injuries. Funeral arrangements are pending for Lighty.

Mr. and Mrs. Lighty moved from Perry five years ago and have been making their home in Wichita. He was employed in sales work here.

Lighty attended city grade schools and was a graduate of Perry high school.

Survivors other than his wife include two sons, Max, 15, and Gary, 12, of the home in Wichita; a daughter, Carol Jean, 10, of the home; his mother, Mrs, Ida M. Lighty of 1020 Seventh street; two sisters, Mrs. Everett Morrow of 803 Eleventh street and Mrs. John F. Lau of west Fir avenue; and two brothers, Glenn Lighty, 1020 Seventh street, and Roy Lighty, 202 Fir avenue.
