Denver “Dick” Dearborn

August 18, 1915 – March 20, 1983

Dick Dearborn, 67, 616 Kaw street, died Sunday morning at Mercy Medical center at Oklahoma City following an illness of the past month.

Private services have been arranged at Grace Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research foundation or to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.

Dearborn born Aug. 18, 1915, in Perry, the son of the late William W. and Belle Homer Dearborn.

He was married May 29, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., to Emma May Cummings, who survives. He lived in Perry all his life except for a short time during World War II, when he lived in California.

Dearborn worked as an automobile salesman and for the past 11 years as sexton at Grace Hill cemetery. He formerly served as a member of the Perry city council.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodge, the Perry Masonic lodge, was a 32nd degree Mason, and belonged to the Scottish Rite Consistory at Guthrie.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include one son, Dennis Duane Dearborn, Bethany; one brother, William Dearborn, Stillwater; and one grandchild.
