Lulu Mae “Lou” (Bourland) Morrissey

December 31, 1934 – March 31, 2011

On March 31, 2011 at 10:21 a.m. The Lord reached out his hand and led our mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, Lula M. (Lou) Morrissey to her Heavenly Home.

She was born December 31, 1934, in Ada, Oklahoma, to William and Lela Clark Bourland.

During her 76 years of life she married (July 1952), raised five children, worked as a lab tech at Midwest City Hospital for 27 years, taught and played the piano for the three year old Sunday School department for 40 years, then retired in 1997.

Lou loved to travel and attend OU football games until her health kept her at home most of the time.

Survivors include her son and caretaker, Bert of Midwest City; daughter, Gail of Calera, OK; daughter, Lynn and son-in-law Sid of Edmond; sister, Catherine and brother-in-law Dwayne of Midwest City; brother, Frank and sister-in-law Mary of Corinth, TX; two nieces and one nephew; and two grandchildren.

Her parents, Bill and Vivian Bourland; one sister, Vivian Frances; two sons, Richard and Ray Morrissey, preceded her in death.

Memorial Service will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at Country Estates Baptist Church. Burial will be at 2pm, Friday, April 8, 2011 at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
