George Michael Winters

December 16, 1944 – June 16, 2004

George M. Winters, age 59, retired Army Master Sgt. and Department of the Army, Civilian, for the United States Army Reserves as a personnel specialist, passed away June 16, 2004, at Derby, Kansas.

He was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Leonard Orval and Virginia Winters. He attended Perry high school before going into military service.

Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. June 19, at The Madison Avenue United Methodist Church in Derby. Memorials have been established with the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital Voluntary Services, and the Kansas or Oklahoma Elks Associations.

He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica (Roni), son, Mike and daughter-in-law, Julie Winters of Murfreesboro, TN, father, L.O. Winters of Albuquerque, NM, sister, Mary (Winters) Morse and husband Ted, of Placitas, NM.
