William Henry “Bill” Urban

June 25, 1917 – June 3, 1997

William H. “Bill” Urban, 79, died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at Perry Memorial hospital.

Urban was stricken ill at Braum’s. He was moved to the hospital by Perry fire department ambulance.

Graveside rites are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Hill cemetery. Rev. Lynn Scott will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for heart research or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Urban was the son of Carl and Rosa Urban and was born at Perry on June 25, 1917. He attended Perry schools. He served with the United States Air Force in the European Theater during World War II.

On Dec. 24, 1945, he and the former Maxine Dickson were married at Perry. Urban had been employed by various businesses, including Davis Funeral Home, Western Auto Supply, Monroe-Lang Hardware and Gilmore Oil Company and also had worked in the Noble county assessor’s office.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Max Dickson, Duane and Margaret Dickson and Betty and Joe Habben, all of Perry, and Van and Kitty Dickson, Tulsa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Urban was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
