Ruth Eryline (Williams) Shelby
May 9, 1916 – May 12, 1999
Ruth Shelby, 83, a resident of Oklahoma City, was a graduate of Perry High School. She also attended Hill’s Business College. Shelby worked for the Public Warehouse Company for over 25 years and part-time for Apollo Warehouse.
She was a long time member of Crestwood Baptist Church. Shelby was also a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority for many years, serving as National Corresponding Secretary for two years and National Vice President one year.
Shelby was born May 9, 1916, in Mulhall, to Tom and Emma Williams. She died May 12, 1999.
She is survived by her sisters, Truth Cain, Amarillo, TX and Mrs. Richard Grant, Mercedes, TX; three nieces, Mrs. Roger Rose, Amarillo, TX, Mrs. Tom Board, Denver, CO and Mrs. David Guggisberg, Wichita, KS; a nephew, Tom Cain, Detroit, MI; seven great nephews, Paul Donovan, Mikel, Jason and Josh Cain, T.J. Board and Scott and Grant Guggisberg; two great nieces, Sharla Gehrer and Amy Board; one great, great niece, Shannon Gehrer; and a great nephew Mikennon Donovan.
In compliance with Shelby’s request, her body has been donated to the University of Oklahoma Medical School. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Senior Citizens Division of the Salvation Army.
