Videll Augusta (McKee) Smith

December 29, 1911 – October 6, 2001

Videll Smith was the daughter of C.R. and Ruth (Stanley) McKee. She was born in Perry on Dec. 29, 1911, and died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Perry Memorial Hospital at the age of 89.

After graduating from Perry high school in 1930, she and Steward H. Smith were married on May 8, 1932, at Perry. Her husband preceded her in death on June 16, 1994.

She had worked as a cashier at the movie theater in Perry and also was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Perry and the Esther Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors are two sons Dean Smith, Albuquerque, NM, and Gene Smith and his wife, Linda, Silver Spring, MD; two granddaughters, Denise Smith, Oceola, FL, and Diane Smith, Auburn, FL; one grandson, Michael Smith, Silver Spring, MD; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 at the First Christian Church in Perry with Pastor Kent Ruebell officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.
