John Urban “Jack” Hausam

May 12, 1884 – September 15, 1949

John Hausam, 65, formerly of Perry and brother of Mrs. Anna Phenis of this city, died of a heart attack at 5 p.m. Thursday in Hutchinson, Kan, where he lived.

He was born May 12, 1884, in Stewartsville, Missouri, to Andrew and Elizabeth Ann (Tisch) Hausam. While in Noble county, he lived on a farm near Rose Hill school, five miles north of Perry. After his graduation from Perry high school in 1904 he taught school at the Sunny Slope rural school north of Perry until 1906 when he went to Quincy, Illinois, to continue his education in bookkeeping and stenography.

Hausam took a position in Hutchinson, Kansas. He and Carrie Gustafson were married and had two daughters.

Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas.
