Essie M. Bucklin

September 22, 1888 – February 12, 1967

Miss Essie Bucklin, 78, died at 4:43 p.m. Sunday in the Perry Nursing Home following an illness of several months.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First, Presbyterian church with burial in Oak Park cemetery at Chandler. Rev. Fred R. Belk,. minister of the city church, will officiate at last rites.

Miss Bucklin was born Sept. 22, 1888, in Mexico, Mo., and came to Perry Feb. 2, 1902, with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. Bucklin. She was a graduate of Perry high school and was employed for several years as a legal secretary in Perry and Chandler.

After making her home in Chandler several years, she returned to Perry in 1956 with her mother, who preceded her in death in 1958.

Miss Bucklin was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Ivy Beers, 1107 Ninth street; a niece and a nephew.
