Lottie May (Reed) Stuart

September 2, 1890 – April 7, 1978

Services for Lottie Reed Stuart, 87, are set for 4 p.m. today in the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints at Midland, TX, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, also in Midland. She died Friday in a Midland nursing home following an illness.

Mrs. Stuart was born Sept. 2, 1890, in Marionville, Missouri, to Robert Berry Reed and Miranda Isabel (Popplewell) Reed. She graduated from Perry high school in 1908 and later taught in Edmond, Okla.

She graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in 1941.

She moved to Midland in 1967. Prior to moving to Midland she lived in California, Michigan, and Colorado, and worked as a nutritionist. Her husbands, Edward L. Reed and Charles V. Stuart, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, E.L. Reed Jr; a daughter, Mrs. Victor Bearden of O’Donnell, TX; one brother, Charles Reed of Clemson. S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
