Clifford Frank Chapman

Clifford Chapman was born September 17, 1882, in Kansas to William E. and Elizabeth J. (Brett) Chapman. His parents brought him and his young sister, Mary Louise, to Perry in January, 1894, to open the W. E. Chapman dry goods store. Clifford graduated in the first graduating class from Perry high school in 1901 and served as the treasurer for the first Perry High School Alumni Association.

He continued his education at the Territorial University (later Oklahoma University) at Norman and was active on the debate team. After his graduation in 1906 went to law school at Kansas State University at Lawrence Kansas.

Chapman graduated from the law department at KSU in 1909 and began his career as an attorney with the law firm of Aby and Taylor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. By 1910 he was practicing law in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
