Virginia Ethel (Davis) Smith

August 2, 1904 – April 7, 1989

Virginia E. Smith, 84, died in a Bakersfield, California hospital Friday morning, April 7, 1989.

Born August 2, 1904, in Stillwater, Okla, she was the daughter of Fred A. and Ethel Mae (Houston) Davis. She graduated from Perry high school in 1923.

She met and married her husband, Harry Grant Smith, in 1946 and they enjoyed a rare and beautiful marriage. During their 43 years together they accumulated a host of friends and traveled many miles in their recreational vehicles, camping and fishing.

She had lived on the West Side for the last 44 years and was a member of the Taft, CA, Housewives League. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed to travel. She loved to fish and she loved animals and flowers.

Her survivors include her husband, Harry Smith; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Davis and Zoe Marshall; and nephews and nieces.
