James “Woodley” Patton
September 24, 1919 – September 2, 1976
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jackson Mortuary in Wichita, Kan., for Woodley Patton, 56, Wichita, a native Perryan, who died at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley hospital in Wichita. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Hill cemetery at Perry.
Patton was born in Perry Sept. 24, 1919, to J. Woodley and Hattie Hart (Thompson) Patton. He grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry high school in 1933.
He worked in Perry several years as a chef before moving to Wichita in 1952.
Patton had been in ill health the past six years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Richards, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Joanna Trice, Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. Mary Richards and Mrs. Rachel Stephenson, both of Oakland, Calif.; and one half sister, Mrs. Lola Pawal, Guthrie.
