Carolyn Marie Chopp
Class of 1952
Carolyn Chopp taught in Oklahoma and Kansas colleges and high schools and was active in various education organizations. She later devoted time to Perry as the first secretary of the Perry High School Alumni Association, a member of the Cherokee Strip Historical Society, and a Perry Daily Journal contributor.
Carolyn worked as a school secretary in Perry from 1952 to 1958 and then earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Education from Oklahoma State University. She taught in the high schools of Garber, Oklahoma, and Garden City, Kansas. Her college teaching was at Kansas State College, Pittsburg, Kansas, and Northern Oklahoma College, Tonkawa, where she taught from 1965 until her retirement in 1986.
