Jack Allen Dolezal
Class of 1943
Jack Dolezal supported Perry and Noble County throughout his life in his profession and in many community activities. Born in 1925, he attended Perry Public Schools and lettered in both football and basketball, acted in plays, and earned selection to the academic honor rolls.
Being a member of what we now call “the greatest generation,” as soon as Jack turned 18 years of age in July 1943, he joined the U.S. Air Corps, where he served as a navigator and was trained to be a bombardier on a B-17 crew.
Jack returned to Oklahoma in 1945 and attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for two years. Upon graduation he began working for his father at Noble County Abstract.
Jack Dolezal has been a leader in and a contributing member of the Perry community for over six decades. He was president of the Perry Chamber of Commerce in 1964-65; has served on the board of directors of the Exchange Bank since 1974; and served on the Noble County Excise Board from 1986 to 1994.
He joined the First Christian Church at the age of 15 and has remained an active member since then. He also served on the local board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a donor to that organization. Jack has been a member of the Perry Noon Lions for 61 years and active in its leadership and community service.
Jack has previously been honored for his contributions to Perry’s and the state of Oklahoma’s well-being. The Oklahoma Land Title Association in 1993 named him the “Title Person of the Year” in recognition of his leadership and service on the organization’s board of directors. In 1995, Jack was honored by the Perry Chamber of Commerce as the “Perry Citizen of the Year.”
Jack married Charlene Bowman “Bow,” a girl from Mangum, OK, whom he met at NOJC while they both were college students. They were blessed with three sons. Gib married Patti Coffee of Perry and they reside in Estes Park, CO. They have two sons, Luke and Jake. Mark married Linda Holt and they have two daughters, Amber and Talia Joe. Mark is currently principal of the elementary school in Kellyville, OK. Timothy is married to Debbie Gottschalk, and he has one daughter, Casey. Tim is a landman and a real estate appraiser residing in Perry.
Bow went on to be with the Lord in 2008. Jack is proud to be the great-grandfather of six great-grandchildren.
Jack emphasizes his “pride in Perry and his thankfulness for his family and his many friends in this community who have contributed to and shared with him the joy of life in a small, yet thriving city.”
