Florence Margaret (Endres) Powell
August 14, 1922 – December 9, 2000
Florence M. Powell, Oklahoma City, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, of recently diagnosed liver cancer.
Florence had received a high clearance in special services at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII.
She later became secretary at St. Charles Catholic School for 12 years. She thoroughly loved being around children, her family, singing in the church choir, and cooking large meals.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Clay Powell; her son and daughter, Michael and his wife, Jaquelyn, and Karen and her husband, Ken Kenworthy Jr.; her brothers, Carl Endres and his wife, Janice, and Frank Endres; her sister, Marie McFayden; and eight grandchildren, Tripp, Lauren, Michelle, Michael Jr., Kylie, Saura, Karsten and Truman.
Her family said, “We all love her and will miss her loving smile and gentle touch. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.”
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord in Oklahoma City. Interment followed at 2 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Perry, OK. Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary, Oklahoma City.
