Roy Gordon Uhl, Jr.

December 4, 1918 – May 12, 1989

Former Perryan Roy G. Uhl Jr., 70, Edmond, died Friday morning at Mercy Health Center at Oklahoma City.

Uhl was the son of Roy and Celia (Murphy) Uhl and was born at Sperry, Okla., Dec. 4, 1918. He was a graduate of Perry high school and Oklahoma State university. Before his retirement, Uhl was district manager for Petroleum Production Equipment. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church of Edmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Lou.

In addition to his wife, the former Bestina Shea, survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Carol Uhl, of Epson Downs Surrey, England; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sisters-in-law include Virginia Burton, Osceola, Ark.; Dorothy DeVilbiss, Austin, Texas; and Dovie Weber, Daisy Shea, Nell Wiederkehr and Maggie Caspris, all of Perry.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Baggerley Primrose Memorial chapel at Broadway and Memorial, Oklahoma City. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church of Perry. Rev. David Cowden will officiate. Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery at Perry under direction of Baggerley Funeral home of Edmond.
