Audrey Alma (Knott) Webber

April 25, 1918 – November 7, 2007

Audrey Alma Webber, daughter of G. W. “Jack” and Alma (Ball) Knott, was born April 25, 1918 in Aztec, New Mexico. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. She was 89 year of age.

Audrey received her elementary education at Pleasant Hill School in Noble County and graduated from Perry High School. She furthered her education at Northwestern State College in Alva, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education.

She was united in marriage to Howard William Webber, July 26, 1940 in Waynoka. They made their home north of Chester where they raised their only daughter, Cheryl Elaine. Audrey continued to live on the family farm until 2003 when she moved to Yukon to live with her daughter. She taught school at Pleasant Hill Grade School in Noble County, Oak Grove School in Major County and Seiling Public School in Seiling. She retired from teaching in May of 1980. Audrey was also active in the Chester Home Demonstration Club, First United Methodist Church in Seiling and Retired Teachers in Major County. She enjoyed yard work and gardening and was also an accomplished seamstress. Audrey and Howard enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Canada. After Howard’s death, Audrey traveled with her daughter’s family to Hawaii and Florida and took several trips with friends. After moving to Yukon, Audrey enjoyed being with family and especially her Great Grandson. She was also an active volunteer at Mercy Health Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Jacobs and husband Ron of Yukon; one grandson: Shawn Jacobs and wife Macara of Yukon; one granddaughter: Michelle Komarek and husband Stuart of Oklahoma City; one great grandson: Ayden Jacobs of Yukon; one sister: Opal Fellers of Alva; three sisters-in-law: Norma Knott of Perry, Bernadine Louthan of Chester and Evelyn Webber of Ringwood; seven nieces and nephews and their families. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Otis Knott, two sisters: Georgie Marie and Merrial Knott; three brothers-in-law: Paul Fellers, Buck Webber and Eldon Louthan.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Seiling with Pastors Ewel Vaughan and Roland Luelf, officiating. Interment will follow in the Brumfield Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Brumfield Cemetery, Seiling-Chester Center for Senior Citizens or to the Chester Club with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds at PO Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663.
