Albertha “Belle” (Smith) Royce

March 26, 1886 – May 8, 1960

Mrs. Belle Smith Royce of 360 E. Plymouth St., longtime Long Beach, California, resident and real estate woman, died Sunday.

Born March 26, 1886, in Kansas, she was the daughter of William T. and Mary C. (White) Smith. She graduated from Perry High School in 1904.

She taught school in California before her marriage to Elmer B. Royce on June 30, 1913, in Riverside, California.

Mrs. Royce had operated the Royce Rainbow Realtors in Long Beach for many years, dealing in oil land and other property.

She was a member of the Long Beach Realty Board, the Long Beach Business and Professional Women’s Club, and a charter member of the Mar Vista Chapter No. 511, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Delmer E. Royce, also of 360 Plymouth Ave.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Simmons of Los Angeles; sisters, Miss Ida Smith, Miss Anna E. J. Smith, Mrs. Britta Galser, and Mrs. M. Beatrice Skilling; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
