Gilbert L. Cockrum

Gilbert Cockrum, 39, of Enid, Oklahoma, died December 25, 1950. He had been ill only a few hours before his death.
Born Oct. 3, 1911, in Perry, he was the son of Charles and Mary Margaret (Tontz) Cockrum. He graduated from Perry High School in 1932 and was employed in oil field work.
He and Wanda May Nelson were married March 15, 1939.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gerald Lee, 10, of the home in Enid; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Cockrum of route 2, Perry; five sisters, Mrs. Jack Rice of Georgetown, Texas, Mrs. Walter Pryor of Sulphur, Mrs. Oakley Price of Ponca City, Mrs. Leo Moran of Ponca City, and Miss Grace Cockrum of Perry: and six brothers, Alvin Cockrum of Perry; Lorren Cockrum of Perry, J. E. Cockrum of Perry, Barren Cockrum of Stroud, Milt Cockrum of Georgetown, Texas, and Sgt. George Cockrum of the 45th Division, Camp Polk, La.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Parker Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in McGuire cemetery in Lucien.
