Nina Kathryn (Flood) Hightower

January 14, 1901 – June 27, 1958

Mrs. L. G. (Nina) Hightower, 57, a Terral, Oklahoma, resident for 38 years, died on June 27, 1958, at a Nocona, Texas, hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born January 14, 1901, at Norman, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of William L. and Nancy Jane (Ray) Flood. She graduated from Perry High School in 1919.

She went to Terral as a teacher and there she met and married L. G. Hightower, druggist, on April 23, 1921.

She was a member of the Methodist denomination and was active in its work. She worked with the Woman’s Society of Christian Service and was also active in youth work. She was a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent of Bible School. She was also a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. J. T. Armstrong of Oklahoma City and Miss Frances Hightower, a teacher in Ragan junior high at Wichita Falls; one son, Thomas Grady Hightower of Farmington, N. M.; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Hughes of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Eva Andreskowaski of Norman, and Mrs. H. L. Frost of Geary.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, June 29, from the Terral Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenn Millard, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Terral cemetery.
