Alice “Ella” (Vecera) Haggard

June 3, 1908 – June 4, 1999

Alice Haggard, 91, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, June 4, 1999, at Perry Green Valley Nursing Home, 1103 Birch.

She was the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Mickish) Vecera and was born on the family homestead in Noble County on June 3, 1908. She graduated from Perry High School in 1926.

She and James Haggard were married on November 24, 1932 at Fort Worth, TX. Her husband preceded her in death on January 12, 1998.

She is survived by two nieces, Dorothy Bailey, Billings, and Earlene Aston, Lakewood, CA; five great-nephews, Jim Bailey, Enid, Ron Bailey, OKC, Richard Bailey, Stillwater, Kenney Bailey, Billings, and Everett Aston, Amarillo, TX; and three great-nieces, Linda Smith, Billings, Ellen Aston, Lakewood, CA, and Elaine Aston, Amarillo, TX.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Rev. Bill Hathaway, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated.
