Walter Clinton Brengle

January 11, 1894 – March 26, 1972

Walter Brengle, 78, of Ponca City, uncle of Allan Wilson, 14, Hillcrest drive, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born January 11, 1894, he was the son of Charles and Maggie Brengle. He graduated from Perry High School in 1915 and taught at the Willow Creek school.

On May 5, 1917, he and Beatrice Peacock were married in Noble county. During World Was I he served in the 67th Reg. Artillery in France.

After the war, Mr. Brengle began his career as the assistant cashier at Marland State Bank and was promoted to cashier in 1924. Later the family moved to Ponca City where Mr. Brengle continued his career in banking.

His wife, Beatrice, and one daughter, Margaret Ann, are among survivors.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian church of Ponca City. Burial will be in Ponca City cemetery.
