Lorrayn Eleanor (Douglass) Verseman

Lorrayn Eleanor Verseman died March 23, 2005, at Chesterfield, Missouri.
Born December 20, 1915, in Independence, Kansas, she was the daughter of Stephen and Minnie Douglass. As a child she moved with her family to Oklahoma, first to Pawnee and then to Perry. She graduated from Perry High School in 1933.
In the late 1930s, Lorrayn moved with her parents and siblings to St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked as a clerk in a shoe factory.
On November 13, 1942, she married Herbert Verseman in Tom Greene, Texas. Herbert served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946.
Her husband, sister Audre Whitney, and brothers Paul and Stephen, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother Gerald, sister Vada Jo Holland, daughter Susan Peck, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin, Missouri, with interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, Missouri.
