Gary Wayne Emmons, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Emmons, was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Billings and moved to Noble county in 1945. He attended the Billings school in 1943 and attended school at Okeene in 1944. Gary has been a member of the Future Farmers of America chapter since 1951 and has also participated in wrestling since that time. He has not made any definite plans for the future.

Gary Wayne Emmons, 83, of Perry, passed away February 21, 2021, in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Born at Billings, Oklahoma, February 25, 1937, he was the son of Wayne and Gladys (Collins) Emmons. He graduated from Perry High School in 1955.

Gary worked in the oil field for several years, then cut and sold firewood for many years. People said he had the best wood in the country. He liked to hunt with his boys and go fishing and camping with his family. He loved to take care of his grandkids and liked sitting on the porch swing and visiting with neighbors and friends and he always had a wise tale to tell.

Gary and Janice (Curran) Emmons were married in Arkansas City, Kansas, in 1958.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dewey Emmons and Larry Emmons.

Survivors include his wife Janice of the home; children Wayne Emmons of Perry, Gary Emmons and wife Misty of Chandler, Sandy Richardson and husband Gary of Perry, Cathy Condit of Tecumseh, and Renae Reed and husband Bob of Enid; grandchildren Tahra (Emmons) Pando, Cassie Graham, Kim Condit, Leslee Richardson, Cooper Emmons, Remington Emmons, Whitney Classen, Tiffany Sturgon, Derik Turner, and Bailey Parmley and husband Kyle; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Tom Emmons of Mustang; and a sister, Doris Brown of Denver, Colorado.
