Jarred Wayne Williams

June 22, 1986 – September 2, 2021

Jarred never sat still. He just couldn’t. From the time he was born, he was one big ball of action. That never stopped. Whether it was fishing with Garrett & Tyler, swimming at the Perry pool, roller blading with his dog Riley, wearing a Maroon singlet in wrestling, jumping on the trampoline with Kyle, getting in trouble with TJ and Caleb, following Noodle around at tournaments, playing Rugby at OSU, camping at Waltermire’s pond, working in Grandma Sally’s garden, playing lineman in football, hunting with his Dad and Pa, swimming with Ruthie, traveling with his Mom, talking football with Pepa, cooking with Mema, skiing with the Baptist Youth, riding his Wave Runner, wrangling sheep at Adi’s shows (he hated sheep but loved Adi), or Nerf gun battles with Tanner and Taler. . . he was always on the move.

Jarred tried college but found he liked college life better than classes. He was never ashamed of that. He proudly let everyone know he was a bouncer at Willies or that he worked backstage at Tumbleweeds. Oh the stories we could tell about those years. Those might have been crazy times, but what he cherished the most about those years were the people it brought into his life. Jarred was such a people person. It was like he gathered people like him around and made them part of his family. Once he loved you, he loved you for life. We could always count on Jarred bringing friends along for holidays and family gatherings and we loved that he did. Because we knew people like Jessica, Big Dan, Chase, Jeremy, Wingnut, Jason, Chad, Cary, and so many others we can’t list would help him in a second.

Jarred did grow up and along with that his work choices. He worked at Ditch Witch, in oilfield sales, and for J & J Solutions. He sought out work that kept him busy. At his passing, Jarred worked at the Pawnee Tribe in their IT Department. He loved his job and was pretty much self taught. But the more Jarred worked for the tribe, the more he came to love and admire the Pawnee People. Pius and the ladies in the office accepted his ornery self and gave it right back to him along with corn soup and fry bread. He always bragged on how well everyone there took care of him.

When our family spoke about what was so memorable about Jarred, every single one of us said how BIG he loved. His big heart matched his big frame and he was never ashamed to tell us he loved us no matter who was around. If any of us needed him, he dropped what he was doing and came. No questions asked. He was our self-appointed protector. Taler noted that whenever he was having a rough time as a kid, Jarred would come over and sleep on his trundle bed. For Taler and Tanner, Jarred was more like a brother than a cousin. And in addition to being the family protector, he was also the family social director, making sure we had our monthly family dinners and texting reminders about when to be there and what to bring. Deviled eggs were always his responsibility. What Jarred wanted the most was for all of us to be happy. Adjusting to life without him will be unimaginable.

And as much as we will miss him, Jarred’s 3 littles will feel his absence the most.

Jarred was, above everything else in life, a great Dad. Emeri, Beau, and Knox illuminated his life. He spent so much time helping them with school work, going to class parties, and doing Dad things. He and Beau loved singing Holler Boys together. He took all three kids fishing and checking cattle. He spent lots of time listening to Emeri sing the music he played. It should be no surprise to anyone that all 3 kids could sing every word of Jason Stringfellow and the Ordinary Outlaws songs. Emeri sang loud and proud and Beau did all the dancing. Knox loved building Legos with his Dad, and Knox and Beau both kept Jarred educated on everything dinosaur. Emeri was his artist. Both boys wrestled with him. His summer favorite this year, along with going to the arcade, was watching Knox play tee ball and Emeri and Beau play soccer. Everything about his kids made each day of Jarred’s life brighter. They have made all of our lives brighter.

We close with this.

Jarred loved his hometown. He was proud his kids were Perry Maroons like he was. He knew raising his kids in this town was the best place for them. We talked often about how everyone in town took care of his kids just like they did him growing up. We, his family, ask this of all of you. Tell Emeri, Beau, and Knox stories about their Dad. Share everything you loved about him. Help them remember who he was.

We thank you for the outpouring of love and support we have all received.
