Bonnita Mae Nida, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nida, 705 1/2 Thirteenth street has been in the Red Hots pep club, was a band twirler, served on the Teen Town council, was Teen Town clerk, member of the student council, and serves as the 1955-56 PHS football queen. She won two superior ratings in contest for twirlers, and was a member of her junior class play. She was business manager for a band queen candidate in 1953-54 and for a football queen candidate in 1952-53. She also took part in the senior and junior assembly programs. Bonnita was born July 5, 1938, in Orlando, and moved to Perry in 1944. Her post-graduation plans are indefinite.

Bonnita Mae Foster, age 83, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away October 10, 2021, at home, with her children by her side, in Perry, Oklahoma.
Born on July 5, 1938, in Orlando, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Ralph and Bonnie (Reed) Nida. Bonnita grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1956. Bonnita was especially close to her high school graduating classmates and held very special memories of their time together. Bonnita faithfully served her community as City Clerk for 25 years. However, her favorite title God gifted her was Momma and Mamaw.
She married Clayton Bolay in 1957 with whom she had her children, Ted and Teresa.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Upchurch and her husband, Bobby of Monett, Missouri; son, Ted Bolay and his wife, Tammy of Perry, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Meagan Hulet and her husband, Travis of Perry, Oklahoma, Missy Groom and her husband, Taylor of Perry, Oklahoma, Katie Meier and her husband, Lucas of Monett, Missouri, Bonnie Upchurch of Monett, Missouri, Brannon Bolay of Perry, Oklahoma; and Bailey Parmley and her husband, Kyle of Missouri; great-grandchildren, Lee Hulet, Langston Hulet, Emmy Groom, and Rylie Meier; and sister, Doris Alexander of Denton, Texas.
Preceeding her in death were her parents; husband, Cleo Foster; and brothers, Kenneth and Vorie Nida.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Grace Hill Cemetery with Josh Bell officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Companion Health Care.
