Herbert Eugene “Gene” Snell

October 9, 1928 – January 3, 2010

Herbert E. Snell, 81, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010.

Mr. Snell was a retiree of Heil Company and a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Roane Coral Society.

He enjoyed golf and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hebert H. Snell and Cassie Eagles Snell.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Snell of Hixson; son, David Snell of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Leslie Snell of Hixson; brother, Richard (Jerrie) Snell of Lakewood, CO; sister, Jane (Robert) Lewis of Moore, OK; grandchildren, Dwayne, Lana and Shane Snell and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Mike Creson and Father Alex Waraksa officiating. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675, The American Cancer Society, or Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
