Hiram E. Morgan

November 14, 1882 – April 19, 1965

Hiram E. Morgan, 82, died at a Forsyth, Montana, hospital Monday night, April 19, 1965.

He was born November 14, 1882, in Carimona, Minnesota, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Theron H. Morgan. He spent his boyhood in Minnesota and came with his family to Oklahoma around 1900. He and his sister, Bernice, graduated with the first graduating class of Perry High School in 1901. Hiram continued his education, graduating from Oklahoma A. & M.

He worked as the superintendent of the water and light plant in Stillwater, Oklahoma, before taking a position in 1911 as the manager of the telephone exchange in Yukon, Oklahoma. In 1916 he moved to Casper, Wyoming, to serve as the manager of Mountain States Power Co. He was later transferred to Thermopolis, Wyoming, and to Montana-Dakota Utilities in Forsythe in 1939. He retired in 1952.

One of the early-day pilots in both Montana and Wyoming, he was a member of Montana Pilots Association.

He was also a 50-year member of Yukon Lodge No. 90 of Masonic Order in Yukon, Oklahoma.

One son, Jess Morgan of Los Angeles, California, survives.

The Rev. Norman Austin of the Federated Church will conduct funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. in Beals Mortuary. Burial will be in the Forsyth Cemetery, Forsyth, Montana.
