James Kenneth “Ken” Box

September 3, 1938 – September 5, 2023

James Kenneth “Ken” Box, 85, a longtime Perry resident, passed away at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Ken was born September 3, 1938, in Abilene, Texas, the son of William Alton Box and Ethel Russell Box. He grew up in Perry, Oklahoma, and was a 1956 graduate of Perry High School. He continued his education at OSU-Okmulgee Technical School and Oklahoma State University. He was employed in the warehouse for Ditch Witch until his retirement.

Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church. He loved riding his motorcycle and had a passion for helping people and enjoyed visiting friends and classmates at Kumback and Sooners Corner.

Ken is survived by three children: Clifford Brown and Tracey Brown, both of Florida, and Laurel Goldenberg, Texas; eight grandchildren: Mason, Jessica and Matthew, Abbi, Adam and Ashley, Zach and Jonathan; six great-grandchildren: Owen, Ellie, Addison, Theo, Davin and Briley; a nephew, Brandon Box, Pawnee, Oklahoma; two nieces, Maria Mack, Perry, Oklahoma, and Donna Hopkins, Nebraska; and a cousin, Gail Morelan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Barbara, and a brother, Bill Box.

No formal services are planned. Memorials may be made in his honor to the Grandparents Club of the Wheatheart Nutrition Center in Perry.
