Charles Leon Whitchurch Jr., 18, plans to enroll at Northern Oklahoma Junior college at Tonkawa. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitchurch, 624 Holly street, and was born March 31, 1946, in Billings. He took part in wrestling from 1954-64. He is vice president of the senior class and was a junior Rotarian for March 1964. He likes history and Problems of American Democracy best in school. Whitchurch likes to hunt and fish in his spare time.

Charles Leon “Chuck” Whitchurch

March 31, 1946 – July 31, 2015

Charles Leon “Chuck” Whitchurch Jr. passed away July 31, 2015, at 10:32 a.m. at the age of 69.

He was born March 31, 1946, in Billings, Oklahoma. Chuck lived in New Mexico, Arizona, and finally most of his adult life in Houston, Texas.

He retired from Memorial Village Water Authority after 25+ years of service. Chuck had many interests in life from baseball and NASCAR to woodworking in his shop, and was a member of SPJST 142 (Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas). Chuck loved people, especially children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virgie Whitchurch, and his mother-in-law, Ruth Kieschnick.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Whitchurch, a stepdaughter, Brenda Phillips, and his beloved granddaughter, Haley Phillips aka “Ruggy,” who was the light of his life, his brothers, George Whitchurch and Bill Whitchurch, and two sisters, Patsy Hasenfratz and Joan Nemechek, as well as many nieces and nephews, and honorary grandsons, Easton and Peyton Crockett-Wait.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562, followed by private cremation.
