Richard Galen Campbell

December 23, 1951 – November 28, 2023

Richard Campbell, local Perry resident, passed from this life on November 28, 2023, at the age of 71.

He was born in Perry on December 23, 1951, to Laddie and Joyce Campbell. Richard graduated from Perry High School. He was an avid horseman and raised several during his lifetime.

Richard contracted polio at an early age and was greatly helped by the doctors at Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. After doctors said he would never be able to walk, he won that battle and was even able to work for Bemis Construction alongside his dad and brother, Jay.

Richard was a lifelong bachelor and had a genuine love for all his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laddie and Joyce, his grandparents, William and Julia Pont, Herbert and Opal Campbell, and brother-in-law, Rick Condit.

He is survived by sisters, Linda and husband Charles Ownbey, Tammye Graham, Lisa Condit, Cindy Mitchell and brother-in-law Matt Mitchell, and brothers Gary Campbell and Jay Campbell.
