Donald Lee Gottschalk

Donald Lee Gottschalk passed away May 9, 2024, in Hoffman Estates, IL, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born in Perry, Oklahoma, on January 8, 1939, the son of Walter August Gottschalk and Clara Anna (Heppler) Gottschalk. He was a graduate of Perry High School and Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma.
He married Sue Ann Stine in 1960 in Kansas City. They had three children, Jon Kevin Gottschalk and Heidi, Ronald Scott Gottschalk, and Gail Lyn Gottschalk Cook.
After college he worked for Continental Oil Company in Ponca City, OK, for six years before moving to the Kansas City area to work as a CFO for various manufacturers. In 2001 he retired and he and Sue moved to Florida. After six years they moved back to the Midwest to care for his parents on the farm. When his condition worsened in 2018 they moved to Hoffman Estates, IL, to be closer to Jon and Heidi Gottschalk and other family members.
