Diane Jaree Barker, 17, plans to work this summer and then enroll at Northern Oklahoma college, Tonkawa. She was born May 10, 1949, in Perry, the daughter of Mrs. Myrtle Barker, 911 Eleventh street, and the late Howard Barker. School organizations include band, 1963-66; Red Hots, 1966-67; Thespians, 1965-67; and Future Homemakers of America and Future Teachers association, 1966-67. She was a member of a sophomore vocal quartet, the junior class play, and was on the senior class play committee. Art is her favorite subject and she likes outdoor sports.

Diane Jurhee Cardin, 75, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on July 5, 2024. Diane, the youngest of three children, was born on May 10, 1949, to Howard Samuel (Red) and Myrtle Edith Barker in Perry, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong resident of Noble County and graduated from Perry High School.

Diane dedicated her life to Christ, and never stopped learning all she could about Him. She collected crosses and angels and loved singing while playing hymns on the piano. She often did this at nursing homes and at church. Diane’s most prized possessions were her family, especially her three children, Edyie, Lisa, and Drew, and their precious children.

She is survived by her son Drew Nelson, granddaughter, Rachel Nelson; grandson, Hunter Nelson; granddaughter, Tabitha Swartz; grandson, Kelby Swartz; grandson, Colton Johnson; granddaughter, Sophia Bottoms; and great-grandson, Davis Nelson.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Todd Cardin; daughter, Edyie Diaz; daughter, Lisa Bottoms; brother, Richard Lynn Barker; and brother, Gary Howard Barker.
