Richard D. Johnson
Class of 1975
Richard D. Johnson, Certified Public Accountant, is a 1975 graduate of Perry High School and graduate of University of Oklahoma with a degree in Business Administration – Accounting.
His work career began in 1979 in Oklahoma City with Moak, Hunsaker, Rouse, Certified Public Accountants. In 1983, Johnson returned to Perry and partnered in the establishment of an accounting firm Morris and Johnson, Certified Public Accountants.
December 1986, Johnson started employment at The Charles Machine Works, Inc. as a Finance and Credit Manager, later serving as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and then ultimately Chief Executive Officer/President until the company sold in 2019.
Through the years, he became a trusted advisor to Ed and Mary Malzahn, and continues to serve in that role today as a consultant to Malzahn Family Limited Partnership, as well as a Trustee of Malzahn Family Affiliated Fund, a charitable trust established to benefit Perry, Oklahoma, and Noble County. He also serves currently as a Trustee for the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
Johnson was a founding member of the Perry Education Foundation, previously served as a member of Perry Public Schools Board of Education, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for First Bank and Trust Company of Perry, as well as other civic organizations during his duration in Perry, Oklahoma.
Currently, Johnson resides in Edmond, Oklahoma, along with his bride of 46 years, Kerri (an angel provided by God). Rick and Kerri have two children, Rich Johnson and his wife, Lauren, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Merri Barden and her husband, Dustin, of Edmond, Oklahoma. Rick and Kerri have two granddaughters, Aubrey (18) and Lucy (8).
Rick and Kerri are members of Life Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. They enjoy family, traveling, and spending time in Arizona when it is cold in Oklahoma.
