Roy Thomas Oden
January 9, 1949 – June 4, 2021
Roy Thomas Oden, age 72, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, at his home in Lewisville, Texas.
He was born January 9, 1949, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Roy spent his childhood with his beloved Grandmother Bilbrey in Williamsville, Missouri, and with his family in Perry, Oklahoma, where he was a 1967 graduate of Perry High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He began his 37-year career as a Union Carpenter in Dallas, Texas, in 1972, retiring in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2009.
Many have learned from Roy the value of hard work and the importance of integrity. Roy was a very giving man who was always happy to help anyone and many were touched by his generous spirit. He had a positive outlook on life and was a man of his word who believed in the power of doing business by handshake. Roy enjoyed nothing more than spending time with Wanda on a boat on any river, lake, or occasionally even in the ocean.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of 39 years and a host of family and friends too numerous to count. All are forever grateful for his love and steadfast devotion to faith.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Roy touched are invited to a memorial service at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home at 740 S. Edmonds, Lewisville, Texas, 75067 at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
