Agnes Emilie (Gorath) Lovekamp

December 1, 1913 – July 14, 2007

Former Grants Pass resident Agnes Emilie Lovekamp, 93, of Las Vegas died July 14, 2007.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Private interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church Building Fund, 230 Buysman Way, Grants Pass, OR 97526.

Lovekamp was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Perry, Okla., to John and Emilie (Stoltenberg) Gorath. She attended Pioneer and Christ Lutheran schools and graduated from Perry High School in 1931. On April 24, 1938, she married Charles Fred Lovekamp, who died before her. They managed the Daily Oklahoman and Times Agency and the Mistletoe Express in Perry and Lindsay, Okla.

She moved to Long Beach, Calif., in 1964. In 1977, she moved to Grants Pass, where she lived until October 2006, when she moved to Las Vegas.

She attended Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Altar Guild.

She enjoyed handcrafts, church activities and her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, John and Robert Lovekamp, both of Las Vegas; a daughter, Carolyn Murphy of Grants Pass; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
