Following graduation from Perry high school, Betty Jewell Parker, 18, will attend an Oklahoma City business college. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Parker, 301 Eleventh street. She was born August 1, 1933, in Enid and has received all her schooling in the Perry system. Among the school activities she has participated in are band, Future Teachers association, office secretary, senior and junior plays.
Betty Jewell (Parker) Yager
August 1, 1933 – May 31, 1990
Betty J. Yager, 56, native of Perry, Oklahoma, and longtime resident of Medical Lake, WA, passed away May 31, 1990, at St. Vincent Hospital, Portland, OR.
Active in many organizations, she served as reporter for a West Plains newspaper and was active in Medical Lake political arena. Betty was an innovative ceramics instructor in the Northwest serving Medical Lake, Fairchild AFB, Spokane, and Portland Ceramic Communities.
Survived by her son Derrill Yager, Kent, WA; daughters, Diana Loomis, Portland, OR; Doreen Strout, Medical Lake, WA; and Deonette Hedke, London, England; grandchildren, Justin, Jonathan, Sarah, Chantel, Mikaela; and sister, Joanne Patterson, Copperas Cove, TX.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 3, 1990, at 4 p.m. at Spokane Memorial Gardens, Masonic section, Spokane, WA.
