Richard Ray Rau hopes to attend a trade school following graduation from Perry high school. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Perry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rau, who now live in Oklahoma City. Richard lives with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rau, of 422 Grove street. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic grade school, and Midwest City high school, in addition to Perry high school. He has participated in wrestling the last four years, and last year was on the student council. Richard took part in the senior play this year, and in 1948 was in the Distributive Education club.

Richard Ray Rau, 58, Tishomingo, formerly of Perry, died Friday, May 1, 1992, following an extended illness.

Born at Perry, Feb. 23, 1934, he was the son of Alfred Rae and Mary Nell (Firquain) Rau. He was a 1952 graduate of Perry High School and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Rau and the former Frances Ida Norris were married at Tishomingo on Sept 26, 1978. He had worked as a member of the maintenance crew for the Tishomingo public school system until retiring in April.

In addition to Mrs. Rau, of the home at Tishomingo, survivors include three daughters, Patricia Sayre, Nashville, Ark., Sue Roberts, Tishomingo, and Judy Scoggins, Sulphur; three sons, David Rau, Westmont, NJ, Doug Norris, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Everett Norris, Tishomingo; one brother, Robert Rau, Arlington, Texas; a sister, Norma Batson, also of Arlington; a stepbrother, Kenneth Firquain, Ardmore; his stepmother, Lillian Evans, Tishomingo, and 14 grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral was at 4 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Smith Funeral home at Tishomingo with Deacon Mike Radosevick officiating. Burial was at the Condon Grove cemetery near Tishomingo. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
