Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson, 1703 Twelfth street, are parents of James Killough Thompson, who was born Sept. 16, 1956, in Woodward. He attended school there 1960-69. He is active in band and wrestling and is the 1973-74 band president. He was in student council 1970-71 and 1973-74. Coin collecting is his hobby and art is his favorite subject. He plans to spend a few years traveling after which he wants to enroll in a trade school.

James Killough “Jamie” Thompson, Jr.

September 16, 1956 — December 21, 2024

James Killough Thompson Jr. “Jamie” was born on September 16, 1956, to Jim (James K.) and Patricia (Wolfenburger) Thompson. He passed away December 21, 2024, in Oklahoma City at OU Medical Center at the age of 68.

He lived in several places through the years but Perry had been his home the last year and half. Jamie attended Woodward and Perry schools, graduating from Perry High School in 1974. He was a member of the PHS band in high school. Jamie enjoyed camping and hiking, especially in the mountains of Colorado. A few of Jamie’s favorite hobbies were working on computers, stargazing with his telescope, and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his three children, Kristin Gibson (Shaun) of Perry, Alissa Thompson (Arron) of Oklahoma City and Taylor Thompson (Brandy) of Leedey; his grandchildren, Jayden, Arelia, Anson, Tatum, Cason, Layla, Kade, Brittlyn, Charlie, Easton and Hudson; his siblings Steve Thompson (Ranay) of Oklahoma City, Teresa Jones of Perry, and Mike Thompson (Kim), all of Perry; and his father James Killough Thompson, Sr. (Jim) of Perry.

Jamie was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Thompson (Granny) and his little sister, Judy Thompson.
